Two beautiful Shabby Chic femine layouts from Nicole!

Hi Nicole here....I am back today with another layout featuring the Scraps of Elegance March 'Hello Beautiful' kit!

This photo of my niece Daphne went perfectly with these patterned papers and I found the perfect title for my page in my own stash... just plain wonderful!

As far as colour combination, I wanted to focus on purple, green and gold.  So I used the beautiful Petaloo flowers from the Floral Add-On as well as white and purple Prima flowers and some lavender blooms from the main kit.

I sprayed my page with Lindy's Stamp Gang purple mist and added a fair share of beads.

I dare say that this is now a new favorite of mine!

Thank you once again for joining me today
and hopefully you'll be back soon for more Scraps of Elegance inspiration !

Sharing with you one more project
showcasing the March Scraps of Elegance 'Hello Beautiful' kit.

Those who are familiar with my work have noticed that I do a lot of paper ripping
lately on my layouts. I love the look of it and how it allows me
to feature several different patterned papers on my pages.
This time, along with paper from the kit, I also used corrugated cardboard
and white cardstock from my own stash.

This quote shows up many times in the Graphic45 collection
which is included in the SOE kit. It is so beautiful and
I thought that it would be very fitting for a layout about me.

I used the rose stamps in the Heidi Swap set on white cardstock
and fussy cut around the image
to then slip the stamped pieces in and about my flower clusters.

This is me, a couple years back, 'au naturel' as they say,
during a nice stroll in a wooded park of my hometown.

Here is one again the 'Hello Beautiful' kit and the add-ons with which I created this month:

Mixed Media Monday - Kerstin - 24.4.17!

Welcome!
Kerstin here and a new project for our Scraps of Darkness Kit 'Boys will be Boys'.
I was inspired from the wonderful Journaling cards Misc Me and the transparent stickers by Bo Bunny, in the Main Kit
perfectly for a new little friendship gift.
The denim blue star tags and buttons from the Element Add On kit
were also suitable for this mixed media canvas with a lot of favorite quotes.
You are smarter, braver and stronger
than you ....

I used various spray mist's, also golden metallic paint for the background, and made some blue highlights with Tim Holtz Salty Distress ocean crayon
 and a blue glitter paint
because the fact is clearly...too little glitter!
Here are some close ups!

here is my next project  I want to share with you
a sea mixed media canvas
featuring Scraps of Darkness March kit
'Boys will be boys'
I was inspired as I saw the wonderful blue whales and turtles
on  the Journaling cards Misc Me by Bo Bunny.
I love the sea and all the fantastic blue color shades
on the water.
It was a pleasure for me to make this canvas
with some fantasy elements.

two cut out turtles, swimming fin has only been partly glued,
the rest I have bent slightly, an interesting 3d effect !

I painted the piece of the missing tail fin with some acrylic colors.

I use the arrow chipboard from Blue Fern Studios
and divided him into two parts, now looks like two fantasy fishes.

transparent stickers from Bo Bunny are very practical,
because you can always see the paper underneath

In the lower part I used a white texture paste
and this beautiful blue metallic Microbeads
from the Elements On Kit.

Thanks for your visit!
Happy crafting!
Kerstin

Two amazing mixed media layouts from Tatiana!

Hello!
Tatiana is here with you today and I came back with new mixed media layout featuring March Scraps of Darkness kit 'Boys will be boys'. But this time I decided that I want to create something feminine using masculine kit.

For this layout I chose photography with my daughter and me in soft colors. For the background I used neutral grey paper from Blue Fern Studios 'Chesterville collection. I also chose BoBunny Journaling Cards one with mommy leopard with a cub. On the first step I added texture using texture paste with sand and Kaisercraft stencil. Then I applied Lindy's Magicals Shaker from the Main kit and Spectrum Noir Glitter Brush pen from the old kit and added background stamping using stamp from the Elements Add On and background stamps from my stash.

In the layers behind the photo I used journalling cards, piece of Blue Fern Studios paper and embellishments from the old Scraps of Darkness kits.

Then I added different glitter, flakes, splashes and rhinestones.

I used from the Main kit

Blue Fern Studios' Chesterville Collection
BoBunny Life In Color Collection Misc. Me Journaling Cards
Lindy's Stamp Gang Oktoberfest Orange Magicals Shaker
Ruby Rock-It Bella! Paper Flowers

from the Elements Add On

Carabelle Studio Circle Collage Cling Stamp 2.75"X3.75"

My next layout is about my daughter and her love to peekaboo.

For my background I used two papers from Blue Fern Studios Chesterville collection. I adhered with a shift dark on the light background and cut leftovers. Color scheme of the layout is based on the photo colors.

Then I created layered composition behind the photo using pieces of paper and journalling cards from the Main kit. On the next step I added texture using texture paste with sand and Kaisercraft stencil. When all completely dried I applied Tim Holtz crayon from the kit and Faber-Castell grape gelatos blending them with fingers. Then I added Spectrum Noir glitter brush pen and blended it with water.

On the next step I added embellishments to my project such as denim stars, stickers, flowers, leaves, lace, stamped on the cork embellishments and chipboard covered with Tim Holtz crayon.

Then I added stamping using three background stamps. On the next step I decided to add more texture to my project and added glitter, microbeades and sequins.

For the final touches I used splashes, liquid drops and rhinestones.

I used from the Main kit

Blue Fern Studios' Chesterville Collection
BoBunny Life In Color Collection Misc. Me Journaling Cards
Darice 10mm Black Sequins
Papermania Denim Blue Collection Denim Star Tags
Tim Holtz Salty Ocean Distress Crayon

from the Elements Add On

BoBunny Life In Color Clear Stickers
Blue Fern Studios Splatter Arrows Chipboard
Carabelle Studio Circle Collage Cling Stamp 2.75"X3.75"
American Crafts 1oz POP! Microbeades: Wave

Laura creates with Bo Bunny 'Life in Color' from the 'Boys Will Be Boys' kit

Good morning!  Laura here
I am really enjoying working with the Scraps Of Darkness 'Boys Will Be Boys' kit.
For this layout I decided to use the Bo Bunny Life In Color collection...

I started by layering then inking all the papers with stayz on ink from a previous kit.

I added some of the clear stickers from the elements add on...they are cool!

I fussy cut that really cool octopus out of one of the papers from the coordinating paper add on.  He rocks!

I also added the Echo Park Petticoats & Pinstripes Boy Words Decorative Tape from the elements add on.

My next layout I wanted to share today from the 'Boys will be Boys' kit from Scraps Of Darkness is also using the Bo Bunny Life In Color collection

Our niece Jill from Breaultography took this wonderful photo of Cody which was perfect for these papers

I started by using the Lindy's color shakers from the main kit and color add on onto the background paper that I had covered in clear gesso.  I spritzed with water until I liked what I saw!  I then used a stencil from a previous kit and some embossing paste!

I fussy cut these images from the papers and used the tape from the elements add on

I also fussy cut the title out of the paper,

and the hot air balloon.  I also added some of the microbeads from the elements add on!

The really awesome arrow I inked with orange stazon ink then added the green embossing powder and some of the blue microbeads!

I used a wonderful sketch from Stuck? Sketches

Thanks for stopping by!

Grungy Mixed Media Layout from Kathy

Here is another lo I created using the March Scraps of Darkness kit "Boys Will Be Boys" featuring my 2 grandsons, Chase and Cameron.  The boys are very active in Cub Scouts and this photo was taken at the Sea Life Center in Seward.  They were rock climbing around the seal aquarium, little monkeys they are!!!

This layout took me a really long time, not sure why, I think it is because of the softness mixed with the grunge that threw me off.  Anyway, I was able to get it the way I liked it eventually!

I used so many of the goodies included in the Main Kit as well as the Add-Ons.  I used the Crafter's Companion stencil on the background paper from the Creativity Add On first, added a little Lindy's color and then went crazy with the stamping.  For the orange square I used the Bo Bunny collection from the Coordinating Paper Add-On, glued some strips of burlap around the edges, and last, but not least used that fabulous new stamp from Gabi that comes in the Elements Add On.

The gears you see in the picture were cut from dies made by Kaisercraft and Tim Holtz.  I used some of the Bo Bunny paper from the kit to make some of them and others I used cereal boxes to get a more dimensional piece.  I embossed them using Lindy's embossing powder from a previous kit.  Then I rubbed on some of the Tim Holtz Distress Crayon "Salty Ocean".  I could get hooked on those little guys.  Very waxy and fun!  I also added some of the microbeads from American Crafts, which you can find in the Elements Add On.

The layers behind the photo were created using the Bo Bunny Misc. Me cards that come in the Main Kit.  Lisa Novagrodski, our Design Team Coordinator created a layout this month using the fabulous octopus from the Bo Bunny collection and challenged us to use one on our layouts.  So I tucked in my little guy amongst the layers.

The chipboard around the photo comes from my stash.  I used more of the Lindy's embossing powder and rubbed more Distress Crayon around it.  Love the effect.

The title chipboard is from Blue Fern Studios and comes in the Main Kit.  I used the same treatment on it as I did on the gears.  Love the brown and blue combination with all the beads.

I created a little cluster on the bottom left of the photo.  I can't call it a flower cluster cause my son was giving me such a hard time about using flowers on a layout for boys.  Does that happen to you too???

I used various elements from previous kits, as well as fussy cut the number 3 from one of the notecard images from Bo Bunny in the Coordinating Paper Add On.

I thought you might be interested in how the layout looks from the sides.  You can really see the layers.

Masculine layouts can be hard to create.  I have to put myself in a different mindset.  Although I love the grunge look and linear/geometric lines you can create.  Hope you like it!

Till next time, please think about subscribing to the Scraps of Darkness membership club.  These kits really sell out fast, and you don't want to miss out on all the fun!  Happy Easter Everyone!
